Crusades Vs. Jihad

Our President is quite the orator when it comes to standing in front of a podium, and many are bedazzled by his speeches, though not nearly as many today as was first the case when he was elected 6 six years ago. He was the “answer to many peoples prayers,” as it were. America would soon realize, however, that “the-one-they-had-all-been-waiting-for” had a vision with only himself, and his closest advisers in mind. The “fundamental transformation” of America, which he spoke of to get himself elected has been nothing short of a success, taking the country to its lowest levels since the Great Depression of the 1920s – 30s. He has also given America a bad reputation among our allies, and presented us as weak to nations that hate us for who we are, and the freedoms that we stand to fight for. Nations in Europe and the Middle East are in disarray, many are in great fear for their very lives as we speak, not knowing when they may take their last breath to the knife or bullet in the hands of Muslims. Yet, Mr. Obama seems to care very little for their plight, while he strolls to his next green in a golf cart, but when confronted with the very simple task of commenting on the brutality of Muslims in the Middle East, he, instead of condemning the actions of Muslims, equivocates them to the Crusades of the 11 century…

Perhaps Mr. President should take a course in history before actually commenting on something for which he hasn’t the slightest clue what he is talking about. On the other hands, perhaps he knows the true accounts that had taken place, and only wishes to re-write them to fit his own narrative for what took place so many centuries ago. My bet is that he is guilty on both counts. He should take some initiative to educate himself, as well as stop twisting the truth to fit a false narrative for which he is notoriously known.

Comparing Islam and Christianity is as simple as comparing day to night, Let us be clear, there is no moral equivalent in what took place from one end of the Mediterranean to the other, from Clermont all the way to Jerusalem – to what is taking place today all over the world by the Muslim world.

The primary goal of the Crusades was recapture the Holy Land for which the Christian Jewish nations of that era had rightfully in their possession, but was taken siege by Muslims around 1053. This created a separation between the Eastern and Western Church, the hope then was that both East and West could be reunited, and therefore win heaven. Christians, for centuries held the Holy Land in high esteem, and pilgrimages to its holy places became on of the highest acts of devotion. But now, the Seljuk Turks, who had now become Muslims were threatening the Byzantine Empire. Thus, if Christians were to unite both branches of the Church they had to practice war for the sake of the empire and the whole Christian way of life.

It is a rather long story, but one of great interest to those who seek a better understanding of the events that took place and how they correspond with our current world. Let it be known, however, that what took place then by the Christian Church had no bearing on what Muslims have been doing since the time of Muhammed and his erroneous visions of “Jihad” for his followers. The Christian Church did not start a crusade as an act of converting people, she did not pride herself in the pillaging (sacking), raping, and murdering infidels as those of the Muslim religion do. Christianity is not a “convert or die” philosophy, and no act proclaiming such can use Christianity for its defense, and therefore, should not be used as an example to justify the actions of other religious belief systems, or their philosophical underpinnings. Free and prosperous nations have a right to defend themselves from those who seek to do them great harm.

The primary goal of all mohammadeans is the caliphate. To establish it world wide and enforce sharia law on what they have conquered.

The left refuses to believe this because the left and the muzzies share the same goal.

The destruction Western Judeo Christian Culture wherever they may find it.

In the history of Terra it is noted that during the Fifth Crusade, in the year 1218 CE, that a leader among the Sultanate of Rum and Christian Crusaders set aside their religious differences to go to war in the name of Peace and Prosperity.

An alliance of convenience for the Rums. Were they not in more danger from their neighboring muzzies than they ever were from the Christian west they never would have made that alliance.

A question. How many Christians were forced to convert by Rum’s? Was this not all Christian territory before the armies of the muzzie invaders showed up? Or were they proactively getting revenge on Bush even back then for future abuses?

In these matters We see great atrocities on both sides. In that age, when the Christian West was backward and Islam in the East was nearing its technological height, warfare often devolved into barbarity. This was often due to accounts of atrocity in a place which whipped both sides into a frenzy. For acts of horror committed by Christians in the name of their religion one would only have to read the accounts of Radulph about the bloodbath of Ma’arra and the well accounted siege of Antioch. While the stories of Christian cannibalism in Muslim accounts are likely exaggerated the Christian accounts lauding the mountains of Muslim boys and girls must be considered as accurate.

The “atrocities” would not had happened had the muzzies not had this desire to conquer by the sword. The Crusades were in response to muzzie wars of aggression. The same kind of aggressive war being waged by isis today.

I reject any comparison of moral equivalency. There is none. Had the muzzies stayed in arabia there would have been no Crusades to speak of.

Please describe this “Technological height” of muzziedom and the “backwardness” of Christendom.

There is some debate about the exact dates of the Islamic Golden Age, a period where it was said that the “ink of a scholar was more potent than the blood of a martyr.” Medical advances included the use of mercuric chloride to disinfect wounds, the foundations of medical ethics and surgical treatment for cataracts. Inventions of this age include the bridge mill as noted in Cordoba, cryptographic analysis and the guitar.

      2. Tim

First off we have a chemical compound deemed unsafe for use.

Second off we can counter with the Hippocratic Oath and This. Formula Comitis Archiatrorum
Which were around before machmoud married a nine year old girl. And this about catracts.

        http://www.news-medical.net/health/Cataract-History.aspx

A water mill attached to a bridge? Water mills have been around for how long?

Map making? Again how long has map making been around and humans trying to make better maps.

You musicals seem to have an awful lot of “maybes” and “thought to be” attached to them.

Sorry you list does just not jibe. Taking something someone else already invented and maybe changing it or even improving on it does not give you a golden age.

I beg your pardon I misread or as Briam Williams would say, “mis remembered” Cryptographic analysis. Ok I’ll give you this one. Still a dumbed down “Golden Age” if you ask me.

Throw some more at me. The Wife and Kids are over at the neighbors and I am in a argumentative mood.

Had these atrocities occurred in Germany or France We would understand that these people were defending their kingdoms. They occurred in lands held by the indigenous people nit Europeans and they were caused by and sanctioned for religious purposes. What then can you make of the slaughter of Jews in the same time period? Was the Rhineland slaughter of the First Crusade simply a debt driven aberration or was it a continuation of forced religious conversion and murder sanctioned by the Catholic Church?

    Reply
  6. Tim

muzzies were not “indigenous” to the Holy Land. They were invaders.

As to the Rhinland Pogroms you need to speak to a katolischer about those. It was katolischer dogma that held Jews responsible for the Crucifixion of Christ.

Again I will state one simple truth. Had the muzzies stayed in arabia there never would have been any Crusades. Had they not had the desire to convert by the sword a hell of a lot fewer people would have died by the sword.

You moral equivalency is still not working.

At the time there were only two doctrines in Christendom, Universal and Orthodox. Both allied despite their disagreements regarding the state of affairs in territories where pilgrims traveled. If you can pass off the aggression against Jews by Catholics why is there anger at the treatment of Catholics by Muslims?

      Reply
  7. Tim

” why is there anger at the treatment of Catholics by Muslims?”

Hmmm… Maybe because the Christian world grew out of it? Maybe because of the Protestant Reformation where denominations like mine came to the understanding that there would have been no point in Christ living had he not also died. How could there be any grace for any one of us unless his blood had not been shed?

Maybe because that muzzie aggression is not just against the katolischers but every denomination with Christiandom. Not only are Christians targeted by the muzzie mission to convert by the sword but so are Jews and Hindus and Buddhists and Animists and anyone else who does not conform to whatever muzzie belief is the flavor of the day.

Your moral equivalency is still not working.

People Committed Terrible Deeds In The Name Of Democrats
    Daily Caller ^ | 02/07/2015 | W. James Antle III

Lest we get on our high horse and think this is unique to some other party, remember that from its founding until the 1960s, people committed terrible deeds in the name of the Democratic Party. In our own party, slavery and Jim Crow all too often were justified in the Democratic platform.

Confederate General Nathan Bedford Forrest, possibly the first grand dragon of the Ku Klux Klan, spoke at the 1868 Democratic National Convention. Most Klansmen were Democrats. The party refused to condemn the Klan as late as its 1924 convention, a gathering wags called “the Klanbake.”

Woodrow Wilson, a progressive Democrat, was a white supremacist who re-segregated the federal workforce. Segregationists were part of the New Deal coalition and were running mates even to liberal Democratic presidential candidates into the 1950s. In 1956, 99 of the 101 politicians who signed the racist “Southern Manifesto” were Democrats.

The major civil rights legislation of the 1950s and 1960s were supported by a lower percentage of Democratic members of Congress than Republicans. This included J. William Fulbright, who was a mentor to Bill Clinton, Al Gore Sr., who was father of the future vice president, and Robert Byrd, an ex-Klansmen who was the Senate Democratic floor leader until 1989 and an elected Democrat until his death in 2010.

George Wallace, Bull Connor and Lester Maddox were all Democrats… By now you get the point.

… as Matthew Yglesias put it, “that was all quite a long time ago.”

Not longer ago than the history Obama and Coates cite in comparing Christian supporters of slavery and segregation in the 19th and 20th centuries to ISIS today.

It’s all much more recent than the Crusades or the Inquisition.

    The Myths of Islam

Muslims often complain of popular “misconceptions” about their religion in the West.

We took a hard look, however, and found that the most prevalent myths of Islam are the ones held by Muslims and Western apologists. The only glaring exception to this is the misconception that all Muslims are alike (they aren’t, of course), but even Muslims often believe this as well, as evidenced by the various contrary factions insisting that they are the true Muslims, while those who disagree with them are either infidels, hijackers, or hypocrites.

Don’t be fooled! Hear the myths, but know the truth.

Top ten reasons why Islam is NOT the religion of peace

Violence in Muhammad’s life and the Quran

    James M. Arlandson

Ever since 9/11, Muslim leaders who have access to the national media have told us that Islam is the religion of peace and that violence does not represent the essence of Muhammad’s religion.

Even President Bush and Britain’s Prime Minister Blair have repeated this assertion, saying that Islam has been “hijacked” by a few violent fanatics. Is this true?

Sadly it is not, for empirical, observable facts demonstrate beyond doubt that Islam at its founding is filled with violence—in the life of Muhammad himself and in the Quran itself.

Hence, these Muslim apologists must stop misleading unsuspecting Westerners, and they must be honest about the heart of their religion, for once and for all.

Here are ten clear, verifiable reasons that explain why Islam is not the religion of peace.

Okay, stop trying to be a victim, you aren’t any good at it. Christians aren’t being blamed for all of America’s ills at all. You are simply offended that you and your kind can’t tell people how to live to keep from being offended anymore. I’m a Jew. When Progressives start burning your churches down in whatever flyover state you live in then you have a beef. Until then you can shove that I’m a victim crap up your ass. When you have to wear a yellow cross on your outer garments then you’ll have a beef. Until then . . well you get it. You aren’t being persecuted because two people who your holy book says can’t be married are being married. You are simply pissed off about that and the fact that your anger no longer carries the fear of wrath of the Almighty that it once had.

With all due respect to Mr Williamson, he’s wrong. This is one of many sour grapes arguments about government and what it should and should not do. Government gave you the greatest highway system in the world. Government also provided for the elderly in their retirement. Government also is what the Founding Fathers created all those years ago with a flexible spine that could change to conform to the times. You are missing the point for reasons that have nothing at all to do with bigotry or racism and has everything to do with the eternal struggle between the young and the old. Conservatism doesn’t have the juice of youth that it needs to hold the field of politics. In two generations this may change but it isn’t going to change anytime soon no matter how many wars you pray for every night or how offended you are about your religion no longer scaring the shit out of people anymore.

It’s not my job to convince you Tim it’s my job to tell the unvarnished truth. Let’s start from the top and I promise I’ll keep this simple. This may come as a shock to you but intelligence, or maybe I should call it discernment of facts, isn’t equally distributed among the American population. Some people are simply smarter than others and most of these people are open minded and self aware. Other people want their fears justified by what they read. Those in the latter category follow WorldNet Daily and a myriad of other hate and fearmongering blogs on the Internet. The smarter kids in the room read about a subject like say the federal deficit from a wide range of sources and then make a decision. I fall into that category. I read. It is not only a part of my job it is something that gives me pleasure. Facts are not stupid things; but the investment in something lacking in facts makes the person who does that stupid.

Neocon you could go on the barter system and bypass that whole evil Federal reserve thing. The highways were built with fuel and other usage taxes. I want 100% employment for all who want to work so there will be a large enough tax pool for those who don’t or can’t to stay home.
