Sen. Ted Cruz (R) of Texas issued the following statement on Monday, stating…
“But we don’t have a constitutional right to use force and violence and to threaten force and violence on others,” he said. “And so it is our hope that the protesters there will stand down peaceably, that there will not be a violent confrontation.”
Ted, bro…I’m severely disappointed in you. Whatever little bit of hope I had in you was lost today, after hearing your statements regarding Oregonians who want to protect their property from an ever-growing, tyrannical government. Your statements wreak of naivete, but also irony. Why the irony? Well, you probably guessed it, you’ve been around Washington too long, and you are showing your true establishment colors. You show that you don’t care anything about me, and the millions of others in this country who want an honest, dependable, and trustworthy person to lead this country. Furthermore, where were you when African Americans were looting, burning, and pillaging the city of Baltimore in the spring of 2015? Or how about Ferguson, Missouri in the fall of 2014? How about the lawlessness of the current administration? Why weren’t you out their crying in the wilderness, calling for the impeachment of the monkey in the White House who’s destroying our Constitution?
“This country, with its institutions, belongs to the people who inhabit it. Whenever they shall grow weary of the existing government, they can exercise their constitutional right of amending it, or exercise their revolutionary right to overthrow it.”
Folks, is there anyone out there who we can actually trust to lead our country in the right direction? Well, I hope so, because we desperately need a leader.
Update: How about this for threat of violence and force Ted…why weren’t you there to protect their livestock, property, and homes?
